With the begining of the new season approaching, once more we will see in the first weeks many managers buying 17 years old players from our youth squads at passable main skill and selling them the week after at solid skill for a nice profit. Lets have a look at how this is done!
How to skilltrade?
- Make sure you have some time to spend on this, as you’ll need to watch the transfer lists and be online to bid for players
- Calculate the money you can spend on those youngsters before buying any. Skill level prediction is not an exact science and you might need money for maintaining your squad competitive
- Make sure you’ll be able to take some team spirit hits, otherwise you should reconsider entering skilltrading
- Select the skill level of the players you’ll trade, taking into account the profit you’ll do from making your players pop 1 level. For 17 years old players, take into account that the price might drop strongly for those players after 1 or 2 weeks.
- For better profit, optionally, you can try to find players who have already played in the position trained during the week. Of course there is higher probability of finding those players after the cup/friendly games and before the training update.
- Make sure you know how to compute the sub-levels of the players. There are 2 main ways to compute it, using the TSI or using the wages (only for youth pulls, and at the begining of the season for other players). When I started to play, Hattrick Tuga and HTRatings were giving some ways to compute the sub-level according to the TSI (hints on its calculation here ). Now all the knowledge of the TSI formula has been made relatively useless by the very impressive PSICOTSI which calculates the main skill sub-level for you
- Be warned that the B skills level have a significant influence on how well you can predict salaries.
Now you only have to engage in the bid wars for those players and hope that your predictions were very accurate!
